Well after my wonderful holiday, although I will admit I did terribly miss both the men in my life, I am home with Kyla and back to the normal day to day life.

With a few changes, J worked on the office while I was away. New floor, painted the walls and then we went shopping to refit it out. Oh.My.God it looks amazing and just how I pictured it. Just need to finish moving the finished clothing/nappies into their new homes down stairs and we are all set.

Wonder how long it will stay looking this good??

I am totally in love with my new hard wood floor, not to mention how well the red.

Here are some moved in pictures. Although it has changed, there are move of the red boxes, 2 cupboards above the drawers and another set of drawers down the middle.
Would you believe that I still need to go back and get move red boxes??? Ikea two days in a row and I still didn't get everything, opps!

I am all inspired and now really want to do up my creative sewing space upstairs, sadly the shed and driveway are coming first so it will have to wait a little longer.

Promise to be back with what is happening, what I have been spending money on (opps) and what is in the pipeline soon. I am running with my current cleaning bug and getting some much needed catching up done around the very neglected house.

WOW!

Woddle Bots has made into the latest edition of Junior Style Collective.

This is a great step, although I am not 100% happy with the pictures as I didn't have an iron in my house until Friday and the pictures had a deadline, oh well happy none the less.

A big THANKS to Liss for her work on the blurb for me, such a wonder with words and every so appreciated, given the last minute I asked her and how quickly she got back to me.

Check out the write up here

That's right.

I have bitten the bullet and Woddle Bots is heading to the Mundaring Sunday Markets.

They are a local market held monthly that showcase's locally handmade items. From garden products to clothing to something yummy for your tummy.

We have been for a wander before and it is out of pure slackness that I haven't organised to head up there as a seller before now.

So Sunday 12th July 2009 from 9am - 3pm we will be there.

Pop in and say hello if you are in Perth.

What is your preferred way to purchase items??

Me, personally am definitely a set person. Everything in Kyla's cupboard is hang like a set, whether they are made as a set or I make her wear them as a set. Kaleb's was the same when he was younger but he now just messes it up or insists on picking himself, so no real point.

Some items of clothing I have been making and listing as sets, others I have only been making the top or a bottom with obviously the understanding that I can make something to match if people would like. But am wondering what the rest of the world prefers to buy their items like, hence the question.

Would you prefer to see products list as top/pant sets OR as individual tops & pants???

I really need some HELP, advice, suggestions, anything!

So my new labels arrived today, really quickly considering they came from overseas BUT I am so silly, stupid, dumb..... They are massive and I never noticed when I was sent the sample picture:

I have had a play with them today, for my nappies anyways which do you prefer? Left (purple) or Right (White/Green)

As for clothes, I am considering folding it in half so you can see the name. Am going to try it out later tonight and will show pictures for your thoughts. I tried to cut the labels but obviously they feel appart along the side, I did applique one on there but it doesn't really look right.

*sigh*

Only 495 more till they are all gone!

*sigh*

21st May 2009

Alright here are some pictures of the labels on pants. Note they have been hand stitched as it is easier to move/remove/change them that way.

What do you think?

That's right Woddle Bots, or me got our first wholesale order for nappies this week :)

*bounce*

I am happy, excited and pleased to announce that as of this week Woddle Bots nappies will be available from Handle With Care Nappy & Baby Boutique. Handle With Care was established in 2008 as a joint venture between two stay at home mums, Heather & Alison. Here is a little bit about the woman from HWC:

In February 2008, we came up with our name. We had many options but Handle With Care nappy and baby boutique was the one we settled on – it felt right. I might note that many of the ideas come from email conversations we have had very late at night, I think these ideas come to us thanks to being up all night with our refluxing babies (at least something positive came from the hours of screaming and settling). Even to this day I still get emails from Alison at some very odd hours with some wonderful ideas including new products she has found!

Soon after we started to build up our stash of nappies we discovered that we needed to extend our product line. Nappies are fun, but there are so many other cute and stylish yet functional baby and children’s products that are just so hard to find, particularly in Canberra. So
this is when our little baby started to grow its arms and legs. We started to find a great list of products we wanted to stock…unfortunately we have had to keep a lid on most of these as we have had to ensure we can manage this business whilst keeping our families as our priority.

I’m not sure when Handle With Care was actually born, I suppose it was a culmination of all the thoughts, ideas and plans from that first day in January. Somehow we have managed to get to over 1 year old! We cannot believe how far Handle With Care has come in that time. Like most parents we never imagined at its conception what it might become when it ‘grew up’. We have nurtured it with many many hours of love of attention. We have had many dinners to discuss how it is travelling, what we can do to nurture it further and how we will ensure it continues growing with minimal growing pains.

We are passionate about what we are doing and absolutely love what Handle With Care offers us both and our customers. We have met so many wonderful customers who have come into our lives through Handle With Care and each one has touched our lives in one way or another. These customers have allowed us to not only sell them products but to become a part of their lives. We have seen many bellies grow and flourish into beautiful babies and have been so blessed to share this with people who we might otherwise never have known. Its without a doubt the customers we get to meet and know that makes the many hours we put into Handle With Care all worth it.

I look forward to a great relationship with this company, hopefully the first of many retails for Woddle Bots products.

OK so this is the first time I have done this and I am so excited :)

I am going to run a competition, I need some help picking from the great range of fabrics I recently discovered - I'm in so much trouble - from Fabricworm. So what is the challenge I hear you asking???

I would like to pick four different fabrics, at least two that can work together to make creations for my Oz Handmade store. The person or person that fit the fabrics that best suit my needs will go into a random draw to win 1/2 a yard of their choice of fabric or a Woddle Bots creation made from them from their choice if fabric.

So get shopping, competition closes 7th May 2009 so that gives you a little under a week to pick the best fabric's possible :) Leave your links either in the comments or email them to me at woddlebots@bigpond.com

What a week it has been and I really do feel like I haven't stopped.

Between the children, the housework, the running around, the shopping and of course setting up the new website and then a store on Oz Handmade... I feel like I haven't stopped, although I must have as I did manage to finish yet another book :)

So where are we at I hear you asking?

~ Woddle Bots new store is ready to go and just waiting patiently or not so for the domain to switch over to the new site, hopefully by Monday still.

~ Woddle Bots @ Oz Handmade has a heap of products loaded already and I am pretty impressed with how things are looking, has to be something right? I still have a few more pictures to take tomorrow (weather is shocking here today so not the best lighting) and hopefully get those last few items up on the site ready for the launch on Monday.

~ Shopping, I went again and got somemore winter fabrics not to mention some that arrived here by the lovely postman during the week.

~ Sewing, I finished a birthday present, a few other items and also some nappies and I have pictures to share with you. The nappies are something different, something I hadn't done for a long time (well some) and something I haven't done before at all. Let me know what you think.

Alright, well back to it I guess because otherwise I am not going to meet my deadlines. Will be back at some stage to show the clothing pictures.
